Chili Con Carne y Chocolate

Ingredients
3 tablespoons olive oil4 onions, chopped
2 pounds / 1 kg minced beef
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 cans (14 oz / 400 g each) tomatoes
2-4 red chilies, chopped
1 red sweet pepper, chopped
4 teaspoons ground cumin
½ teaspoon ground pepper
2 teaspoons oregano
2 bay leaves
2-3 teaspoons salt
1-2 cans (14 oz / 400 g each) beans, drained
2 oz (60 g) bittersweet chocolate
Cheddar cheese for garnishing (optional)
Method
- Cook the minced beef, onion and garlic in olive oil.
- Stir in tomatoes, chili, sweet pepper, salt and spices and cook for 15-30 minutes.
- Add more chili, salt or spices as required.
- Add beans and cook until heated.
- Add chocolate, mix well when melted.
- Serve with rice, cheddar cheese and a salad.
